Mentorship

Our one-on-one mentorship is for girls ages 8–18, offered in six-month terms.

We support girls ages 8–18 through one-on-one mentorship relationships offered over a six-month term. Each mentee is thoughtfully matched with a mentor to provide steady guidance and connection during key stages of development. Families may choose to renew for additional terms based on interest and fit.

Mentorship in 3 Steps

  •  Apply & Acceptance Review
Families submit a mentorship application. Applications are reviewed to support program alignment and availability. Families are notified of acceptance and next steps.

  • Enrollment & Support Options
After acceptance, families complete program enrollment. Those requesting financial assistance may submit a scholarship request during this step. Enrollment is finalized once payment details and any scholarship support are confirmed.

  • Mentor Matching
Once enrollment is finalized, mentees are matched with a mentor based on age, interests, and availability. Families receive an introduction and information to prepare for the start of the mentorship term.

How Mentorship Works

Mentors and mentees meet virtually twice per month for one-on-one sessions lasting approximately 25–30 minutes. Sessions create space for conversation, reflection, and skill-building.

Topics may include communication, goal-setting, emotional awareness, identity development, and navigating everyday experiences.

All sessions are held virtually to support consistency and accessibility.

Beyond the Session

Mentorship at In Her Corner extends beyond scheduled virtual sessions.

When available, mentors make an effort to attend one meaningful activity or moment for their mentee each month. This may include a game, recital, performance, academic milestone, or other important event. These in-person touchpoints are an intentional part of the mentorship experience and help reinforce connection outside of sessions.

Mentor Screening & Onboarding

All mentors complete a required screening and onboarding process prior to being matched with a mentee. This includes a background check and completion of In Her Corner onboarding materials.

These steps are in place to support safety, alignment, and program integrity.

Parent Communication

After each mentorship session, families receive a brief Parent Preview. These updates highlight session themes, areas of focus, and moments to celebrate. Parent communication helps families stay informed and engaged throughout the mentorship term.

Program Terms & Fees

Mentorship is offered in six-month terms.

The program contribution is $630.00 per term, with a monthly payment option available.

We offer limited financial support to help ensure mentorship remains accessible for families. Support is based on availability and demonstrated need, and requesting assistance does not impact program experience or mentor placement.

Our goal is to continue expanding access through scholarships as the program grows.

Ambassador Pathway (Ages 14–18)

The Ambassador Pathway is an optional leadership extension available to current mentees ages 14–18. Participants remain mentees while taking part in additional leadership opportunities.

This pathway may include leadership workshops, guided reflection, feedback conversations, and deeper engagement within the In Her Corner community.
