Parent FAQs

Q: My child isn’t on social media yet — is this workshop still relevant?

A: Yes! This workshop is designed for both children who are online and those who aren’t yet. Our goal is to help parents and caregivers start meaningful conversations with their children about the internet — how they might encounter content, how to process it, and how to communicate about it together.

Q: What will my child learn if they don’t use social media?

A: Even if your child doesn’t personally use social media, they’re likely exposed to it through friends who do. Many children hear or see things secondhand — through conversations, shared videos, or trends. We’ll discuss how to help your child understand and navigate that exposure thoughtfully and safely.

Q: Why is it important to talk about online safety early?

A: Kids often begin encountering digital content earlier than parents realize — through games, YouTube, or peers. Talking about these topics early builds awareness, confidence, and communication habits before they become active social media users.

Q: Does the workshop cover gaming platforms like Roblox?

A: Yes. We’ll also discuss online games such as Roblox, where children may interact with others — sometimes including adults posing as kids. We’ll share practical strategies for recognizing red flags and keeping children safe while playing.
